Mr. Rust's teaching bio:

I am actually a Midland High alum, class of 2003.  I took AP Economics my senior year from Hugh Franks, and took AP Government during the spring of my junior year from Pat Dalton.  Back then, Room 521 did not exist!  The West Wing of Midland High was not yet under construction.

After graduating from MHS, I attended the University of Wyoming.  I received bachelor's degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science, and stayed on for graduate school as a teaching assistant.  I received a Master's of Public Administration (MPA) degree, and then returned to Texas to receive a post-baccalaureate teacher certification at Texas Tech University.  While living in Lubbock, I was a substitute teacher for grades 6-12.  I was a student-teacher at Lubbock Monterey, where I taught regular World History and AP World History.

Today I teach AP Economics and AP Government, and also serve as the Social Studies department chair.  I am able to offer dual-credit Government and Sociology through Midland College, and will hopefully be able to offer dual-credit Economics in the near future.

I live here in Midland with my wife and son.  We have a French bulldog named Ellie and are proud of our growing assortment of agave cacti.
